Since 2010 Coastway Surveys has been engaged by Shell for survey works at the Corrib Gas Terminal in Bellinaboy, Mayo, Ireland. Coastway Surveys provided traditional and laser scanning survey support on the project, from monitoring infrastructure and properties to creating 3D models of terminal buildings and pipework. UAV surveys were commissioned for construction progress photography.
UAVs were also deployed to inspect the flare stack avoiding shut down costs and the necessity for manual inspection with the commensurate health and safety concerns.
